Basketball Game Preview: Milan Wildcats vs. Maysville Wolverines

The Milan Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Maysville Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Milan saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They walked away with a 59-50 victory over Schuyler County.

Milan had a senior duo take command as Ethan Bennett posted 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals and Keaton T Weter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Bennett a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Memphis Cole, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Maysville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Albany 70-34. The Wolverines' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Maysville pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Milan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Milan might still be hurting after the 67-46 loss they got from Maysville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Milan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
