Dyett skates past Brooks with ease

Recap: Dyett Eagles vs. Brooks Eagles

The Dyett Eagles posted their biggest win since November 20, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Brooks, posting a 65-32 win at home. Given Dyett's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Brooks is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryce Hayes and Braylon Smith certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hayes scored 17 points along with three steals, while Smith scored eight points. That's the first time this season that Hayes grabbed two or more steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Dyett and bumps their season record up to 10-8. As for Brooks, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dyett will take on Bogan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bogan is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Brooks, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Kankakee at 5:30 p.m.
