Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Wildcats vs. Buena Chiefs
After flying high against The Pilgrim Academy on Thursday, St. Joseph came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 13-10 to the Buena Chiefs on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Aidan Riley and Frank Somogy did some serious damage despite the final result: Riley went 2-for-3 with three runs, while Somogy went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Joziah Rivera also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Buena, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Looking ahead, St. Joseph will take on Pleasantville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Buena, they will host Millville at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
