Softball Game Preview: Newton Braves vs. Lenape Valley Patriots

For the second straight game, Newton will face off against Lenape Valley. The Braves will challenge the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Newton and Lenape Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Braves fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3.

Newton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Sawler, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Isabella DeLeon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lenape Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.
