Soccer Game Preview: Canyon vs. Valencia

The Canyon Cowboys will venture away from home to square off against the Valencia Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Canyon had just enough and edged Golden Valley out 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cowboys' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 816th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 376th).

Meanwhile, for the first time since January 7th, Valencia was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and West Ranch finished up their game with a 1-1 draw.

Valencia's goal came courtesy of Diego Jovel, who's now up to four this season.

Canyon's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9-2. Valencia's draw makes their record 5-5-2 this season.
