Baseball Recap: Alexander Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Gospel Light Christian

Alexander Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Gospel Light Christian on Friday as the Alexander Christian Academy Crusaders made off with a 13-4 victory.

Micah Gettler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Gettler was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Joel Gettler was a standout: he scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Emery Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Gospel Light Christian and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Alexander Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-7 win against Community Christian Academy on the 17th. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will welcome Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Asheboro Hybrid Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
