Basketball Recap: Young Men's Leadership Academy Beats Luling for Their Third Straight Win

Young Men's Leadership Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Aiden Olivarez. Young Men's Leadership Academy walked away with a 54-43 win over the Luling Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Olivarez, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Young Men's Leadership Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Raishaun Conaway, who posted six points along with seven boards and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Luling lost, don't look at Jaime Gomez. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 12 on his way to 25 points. Gomez is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Flores, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Young Men's Leadership Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Luling, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

As for Luling, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-46 loss against Navarro on the 13th.
