The Auburn Rockets will venture away from home to square off against the Oxford Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Auburn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Auburn is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hopedale just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 7-2 to the Blue Raiders.

Auburn saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron McLaughlin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Oxford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellingham.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 16-2. As for Oxford, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Auburn came out on top in a nail-biter against Oxford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
