It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Broomfield had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Cherokee Trail Cougars get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Cherokee Trail's batters probably weren't too happy with Maverick Scarpella, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Scarpella has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brendan Fritch was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Talan Hutchings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory (which was Broomfield's 14th in a row) raised their record to 22-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cherokee Trail, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-11 record.

As of now, neither Broomfield nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
