Baseball Recap: Kiowa Has No Trouble Against Elbert

Kiowa was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Elbert on Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 20-13 margin over the Bulldogs. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Rowan Golden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Golden was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Those five runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kiowa got a massive performance out of Thade Montgemery, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Montgemery a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Hundley, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Kiowa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kiowa's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Elbert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
