Football Game Preview: Nelson County Governors vs. Glenvar Highlanders + How To Watch

The Nelson County Governors will head out to take on the Glenvar Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nelson County has given up an average of 27.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nelson County is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Appomattox County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Governors were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 38-7. The Governors have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Glenvar strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They strolled past Floyd County with points to spare, taking the game 24-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Highlanders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 128th).

Glenvar's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Nelson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
