Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fredonia). They had just enough and edged the Erie Red Devils out 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since December 15, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Erie lost on Thursday, don't look at Kaeleigh Daniels. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Daniels a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacksen Powell, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks.

Fredonia moved to 1-8 with that win, which also ended their ten-game losing streak. As for Erie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Fredonia will be playing at home against Erie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Erie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-35 victory against Osawatomie on the 24th.
