Eastern Coteau (9 Man) recap September 10, 2013

Wilmot fell to Deuel 64-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Cardinals led Eastern Coteau (9 Man) in scoring this week by notching 64 points on the Wolves. Cooper Gates threw for 101 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

Deuel's dynamic duo of Gates and Lance Eide proved to be unstoppable against Wilmot, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Matthew Rosdahl's team's dynamic duo of Gates and Eide proved tough for Mike Schmidt's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Austin Grout was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 139 yards as Webster bested the Wolves. Tyler Wagner also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.

Gates put up the best numbers in passing as Deuel beat Wilmot. Gates' favorite target this week was Eide, who caught 2 passes for 51 yards.

Brody Grantham was a key player and the best on defense this week as Hamlin bested Clark/Willow Lake. The 6-foot-1 junior racked up 2.0 sacks.

He went 4-4 with 0 interceptions.

Grantham provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Chargers beat the Cyclones. He completed 6 passes for 75 yards and also ran for 86 yards. Grantham's key target this week was Austin Niemann, who caught 3 passes for 23 yards.

Eide was the best receiver in the league this week as the Cardinals topped the Wolves.

Thanks to the talents of Reid Valsvig and Grout, the Bearcats have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Valsvig leads the league in passing with 159 yards, while Grout has rushed for 230 yards this season. Hamlin's Tristen Leiseth leads the league in receiving yards with 75 on 4 catches.

A big matchup in Eastern Coteau (9 Man) this week will be when Deuel takes on Webster. At the moment, the Cardinals are in third, while Terry Anderson's team is in fourth.

Jeff Sheehan's team had a great defensive game this week, leading the league in points allowed with 0.
