Softball Recap: Steinert Takes a Loss

Steinert was the 9-2 winner over Hightstown when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Steinert's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Hightstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Steinert will square off against St. John-Vianney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 0.9 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hightstown, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 20th.
