Recap: Trinity Wolves vs. Orland Trojans
The Trinity Wolves lost against the Orland Trojans back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Trinity ended up on the wrong side of a tough 74-48 walloping at the hands of Orland. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1055th, while Orland is ranked 499th).
Despite the loss, Trinity still got an impressive performance from Bryson Gallagher, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Luka Robles, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Orland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zach Story out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Story's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Thompson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Orland, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Trinity will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against West Valley at 3:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully West Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. Orland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Durham at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Brady Doyle and Story.
