Baseball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Granite Bay Grizzlies

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davis Sr. is looking for their season's first win.

On Tuesday, Davis Sr. didn't have quite enough to beat Del Oro and fell 4-3.

Jack Kenner was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Xavier Becker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Granite Bay gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Folsom by a score of 5-2. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Drew Galbaugh got the start for Granite Bay and what a start it was: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Brenden Jones picked up the save, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Andrew Jones and Logan Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Andrew went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Sanchez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Those three RBI gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JC Peterson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Granite Bay's record is now 12-7. As for Davis Sr., their loss dropped their record down to 0-21.

Davis Sr. skirted past Granite Bay 8-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
