Baseball Game Preview: Bergen Tech Knights vs. Clifton Mustangs

Bergen Tech is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Clifton a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Bergen Tech Knights will look to defend their home field against the Clifton Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Bergen Tech has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Bergen Tech blew Clifton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Clifton got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-1.

Bergen Tech got a good showing from Tiernan O'Rourke, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs O'Rourke has allowed since back in May of 2025.

At the plate, Taishi Yamamoto was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Bergen Tech's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

Bergen Tech now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Clifton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.
