Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nunamiut). They managed a 61-55 win over the Alak Huskies on Saturday. The Amaguq didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Leading Nunamiut to victory were Krista Hugo and Anna Nukapigak. Hugo posted 29 points, while Nukapigak earned 24 points.

Loss or not, Alak got some senior leadership from Nicole Nayakik and Mabel Aguvluk. Nayakik scored 23 points, while Aguvluk had 18 points. That was a full 41.8% of Alak's points, marking the fourth time in a row Nayakik has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Nunamiut's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Alak, they moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nunamiut beat Alak by a score of 51-45 later that day.
