Baseball Game Preview: Carlisle Chiefs vs. Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles

The Carlisle Chiefs will square off against the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Carlisle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Carlisle got the win against Millennium by a conclusive 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.

Blake Parsons and Cole Scarce made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Parsons didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Scarce pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Carlisle is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise. At bat, Parsons went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Scarce got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave Parsons a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carlisle let Mason Wood and Luke Carter run wild. Wood got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Carter went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Wood a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rafe Thomas, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge Military Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-0 to Alexander Christian Academy.

Carlisle's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
