Baseball Recap: Southwood Takes a Loss

Southwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Negreet Indians, falling 12-1. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Chadarius Rhines was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing five bases while going 1-for-1. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Southwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Negreet, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwood will take on Zwolle in a tournament on Saturday. As for Negreet, they will head out on the road to square off against Lakeview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
