Basketball Game Preview: Montpelier Solons vs. Harwood Highlanders

Montpelier is 0-10 against Harwood since December of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Montpelier Solons will be playing at home against the Harwood Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Montpelier is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-13 defeat at the hands of North Country Union. While losing is never fun, the Solons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Falcons are ranked third).

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Harwood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Oxbow, falling 58-34. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Harwood's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Montpelier, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
