Baseball Game Preview: St. Michael Warriors vs. East Ascension Spartans

The St. Michael Warriors will square off against the East Ascension Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Michael is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since March 7, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of John Curtis Christian by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Ascension). They put the hurt on St. Martin's Episcopal with a sharp 16-3 win on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

East Ascension got a massive performance out of Caden Gautreaux, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave Gautreaux a new career-high. Reed Truax was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

East Ascension's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Michael, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

St. Michael took their victory against East Ascension in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-1. Will St. Michael repeat their success, or does East Ascension have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
