Basketball Recap: Jimtown Takes a Loss

Jimtown extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-7. They were beaten by the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles 52-23. While losing is never fun, the Jimmies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Eagles are ranked 125th).

As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 29 points or more this season.

Elkhart Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla Yordy, who posted 14 points and six boards. Yordy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Mia Hibbard was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Jimtown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-10 loss against Glenn on the 11th. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
