Edgewater hasn't had much luck against Winter Springs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Edgewater is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Deltona get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.
Max Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Isaiah Thomas looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
Back at the plate, Sean Baker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Benfer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Winter Springs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th (when they won 11-2). They put the hurt on New Smyrna Beach with a sharp 12-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the game before.
Tripp Rosenberger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brandon Curl, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Owen Swanson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Edgewater's record now sits at 11-13-1. As for Winter Springs, their record is now 19-5.
Edgewater suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Winter Springs when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
