Soccer Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 2-0 to the Pell City Panthers. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Pell City are ranked 32nd).

Lincoln's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13-2. As for Pell City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will square off against Calera at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pell City, they will face off against Helena at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pell City's defense better be ready for this one: Helena have averaged an impressive 5.3 goals per game this season.
