Susquenita dropped their record down to 12-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost  10-3 to the Halifax Wildcats. The pitching woes were  uncharacteristic for the Blackhawks, who until this  game were averaging 3.06  runs allowed.
  Billy Syster was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI. That  triple was  his first of the season.
As for Halifax, the  win was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs over those games.
On Halifax's side,  Brandon Schell made a splash no matter where he played. He  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). That's the most  strikeouts  Schell has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last six games he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Cohen Bechtel and  Will Steinhauer did most of the damage at the plate:  Bechtel  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  Steinhauer  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. Steinhauer has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Matt Kocher, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Susquenita will face off against Big Spring at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Halifax, they will challenge East Juniata at 4:30  a.m.  on Monday.
