League recap: Dobbs Ferry scores huge upset over Bronxville

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dobbs Ferry, who took down 93rd ranked Bronxville, 28-21.

Ryan Morningstar of Rye Neck ran for the longest rushing play in Section 1 C/D this season against Blind Brook last week. Morningstar scampered for 92 yards on the play and finished with 206 on the day as his team bested the Trojans.

Morningstar was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 206 yards on 5 carries as Rye Neck defeated Taconic. Jakob Calvini also contributed to the rushing game with 156 yards on the ground.

Yonkers Montessori Academy's George Figueroa and Atkins led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Figueroa has thrown for 390 yards this season, while Atkins, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 10 catches for 208 yards. Albertus Magnus's COREY JEAN-CHARLES leads the league in rushing yards with 461.

A big matchup in Section 1 C/D this week will be when Woodlands takes on the Eagles. The Falcons are currently in third, while Dobbs Ferry is in second.

Pawling was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to seventh in the league. The Tigers beat Haldane 23-12 earlier in the week.
