Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Knights vs. Harvest Christian Academy Saints

The Covenant Knights will take on the Harvest Christian Academy Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Covenant has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Covenant came up short against McKinney Christian Academy on Monday, falling 19-8. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Harvest Christian Academy entered their tilt with Nazarene Christian Academy on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saints have posted since April 2, 2024.

Austin Sampley was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Harvest Christian Academy is 10-1 when Sampley posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

Harvest Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Covenant might still be hurting after the 16-10 loss they got from Harvest Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
