Baseball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Centennial entered their tilt with Sunrise Mountain on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-1 win. For the Coyotes, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Cohen Baack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Daniels, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Liu Rodriguez Jr, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Centennial's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
