The Juanita Ravens will head out to take on the Bothell Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Juanita will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Lake Washington, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Ravens sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Kangaroos on Wednesday. With that victory, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Juanita got a massive performance out of Jonah Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs Schroeder has posted since back in March. Eric Munchinsky was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Bothell came out on top against Hazen on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Highlanders. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Teyton Hardeman made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Wyatt Mickelberry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Drew Marino, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bothell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Juanita is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Bothell, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Juanita skirted past Bothell 5-3 in their previous meeting on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
