Recap: Amsterdam Rams vs. Moore Catholic Mavericks
If the Amsterdam Rams were feeling good off their 68-22 takedown of the Johnstown Sir Bills on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Amsterdam was dealt a 93-53 loss at the hands of Moore Catholic on Sunday. Amsterdam was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-27.
Emma Costanzo was on fire for Moore Catholic: she shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 assists. Costanzo is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brianna Caliri, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Amsterdam's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Moore Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Amsterdam won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gloversville at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Moore Catholic will take on Ridge View in a holiday battle at 6:55 p.m. on Friday at. Ridge View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 60th in South Carolina, while Moore Catholic is ranked eighth in New York).
