Baseball Game Preview: Williston Red Devils vs. Interlachen Rams

The Williston Red Devils will head out to face off against the Interlachen Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williston will be strutting in after a victory while Interlachen will be coming in after a loss.

Williston's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Hawthorne as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by nine runs or more this season.

Williston got a great performance from Houston Fessenden as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Fessenden has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Breeden Clemenzi was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Blake Martin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Interlachen unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Palatka by a score of 5-4.

Interlachen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerrett Cribbs, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Williston's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for Interlachen, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Williston suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Interlachen when the teams last played back in March. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
