Basketball Game Preview: Cuthbertson Cavaliers vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks

Cuthbertson and Marvin Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Cuthbertson Cavaliers will host the Marvin Ridge Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cuthbertson will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Sun Valley, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Cuthbertson walked away with a 51-41 victory over Sun Valley on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marvin Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Porter Ridge with a sharp 74-54 win on Tuesday.

Cuthbertson better keep an eye on Brady Dunn. He was instrumental in Marvin Ridge's win, going 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points. Those 31 points gave Dunn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry Smith, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Marvin Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Cuthbertson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
