Legend is 8-2 against Castle View since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Titans will head out to take on the Sabercats at 4:15 p.m.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Legend and Cherry Creek meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Titans fell 8-5 to the Bruins.
Jacob Fladebo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Meanwhile, Castle View entered their tilt with Roaring Fork on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 12-0 shutout. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Sabercats this season.
Castle View also got a great performance from Cooper Nason as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Castle View let Tommy Feldhake and Jace Van Long run wild. Feldhake went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Van Long scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Van Long a new career-high in RBI (two). Samuel Harry was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Castle View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Castle View pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Legend, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Legend hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Legend suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Castle View in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
