Basketball Game Preview: Malad Dragons vs. North Fremont Huskies

Malad is 1-6 against North Fremont since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Malad Dragons will square off against the North Fremont Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Malad is coming into the match hot, having won their last 22 games.

Last Wednesday, Malad earned a 54-42 win over Soda Springs. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Cardinals are ranked 48th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and North Fremont had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past Wendell with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 48-31.

North Fremont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. As for Malad, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.

Malad couldn't quite finish off North Fremont in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 44-42. Can Malad avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
