Baseball Recap: La Salle Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but La Salle ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Cathedral Phantoms 5-4. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Phantoms recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

David Eriksson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Klein, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Callihan, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.

La Salle's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Cathedral, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coincidentally, La Salle and Cathedral will both be playing Loyola the next time they take the field. The Lancers will host the Cubs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Phantoms will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
