Baseball Recap: Elsinore Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Elsinore's pitchers stepped up to hand San Jacinto a 5-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Elsinore as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jacob Farias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jimenez, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

Elsinore's record is now 18-7. As for San Jacinto, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.

Coming up, Elsinore will welcome Covina at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.1, the Colts 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. San Jacinto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
