Basketball Game Preview: Humphreys County Cowboys vs. Leake County Gators

Having just played yesterday, the Humphreys County Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Leake County Gators at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Humphreys County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-46 to Greenville. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Leake County strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 win over Pelahatchie.

Humphreys County better keep an eye on Jaquailyn Pippen. He was instrumental in Leake County's win, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aaron Harrell, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Humphreys County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Leake County, their record now sits at 3-0.

Humphreys County came up short against Leake County when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 12-0. Can the Cowboys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
