Basketball Game Preview: Milan Indians vs. Waldron Mohawks

Milan is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Waldron a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Milan Indians will host the Waldron Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Milan was beaten by Oldenburg Academy 66-30. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Twisters are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Waldron was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-44 to Edinburgh.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Waldron, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Things could have been worse for Milan, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-45 loss to Waldron when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Waldron's Grace Fischer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Milan knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
