Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pinnacle Classical Academy last Monday, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 60-59 to the Burns Bulldogs. The Gryphons have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Burns found their leader in sophomore Jadon Beam, who went 9 of 18 en route to 23 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Self, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Burns, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy has already played their next game, a 78-53 victory against Cherryville on the 24th. As for Burns, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 90-64 win against Shelby on the 24th.
