Volleyball Game Preview: Goldwater Bulldogs vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors + How To Watch

For the second straight game, Goldwater will face off against Shadow Mountain. The Bulldogs will square off against the Matadors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Goldwater was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past Shadow Mountain 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won three in a row.

Goldwater took Shadow Mountain into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Goldwater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Miley Zapata out in front who had 22 digs and two aces. Those 22 digs gave Zapata a new career-high. Finley Biber was another key player, getting five digs and five aces.

Goldwater's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Shadow Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
