Softball Recap: Cole Camp Has No Trouble Against Northwest

Cole Camp had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Northwest Mustangs 8-2 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Blue Birds: when they faced off against the Mustangs last Saturday, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.

Emma Thayer and Madilynn Ogle were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Thayer pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Ogle tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Thayer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Thayer went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Ogle went 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madolyn Flores, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win got Cole Camp back to even at 6-6. As for Northwest, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cole Camp will square off against Otterville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwest, they will face off against La Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
