Basketball Game Preview: Clinton County Bulldogs vs. Metcalfe County Hornets

The Clinton County Bulldogs will face off against the Metcalfe County Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clinton County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Clinton County's tournament run continued when they took on South Pontotoc on Saturday. Clinton County wrapped up 2024 with a 64-45 win over South Pontotoc. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 18th in Kentucky, while the Cougars are ranked 97th in Mississippi), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Metcalfe County scored the most points they've had this season on Sunday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 85-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Expression Prep Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (71), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Clinton County's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Metcalfe County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
