Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Taryn Kraus and Kenna Wesner Lead Marion to Victory

Marion hadn't done well against Council Grove recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Marion Warriors managed a 29-24 victory over the Council Grove Braves. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marion was led to victory by Kenna Wesner and Taryn Kraus. Wesner posted 12 points and four steals, while Kraus put up nine points and seven rebounds. Kate Wessel also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Marion's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Council Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 loss against Remington on the 4th. Council Grove has also already played their next contest (against Rock Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
