Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Finds Playoff Glory Versus Rocky Mount Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Christian had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 87-39 win over the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Logan Stafford was his usual excellent self, going 13 for 21 to rack up 31 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Xayden Watson, who posted six points in addition to 13 assists and six rebounds.

Trinity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gehrig Miller, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Thomas Honey, who earned four points and eight boards.

The victory (which was Trinity Christian's 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points over those games. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Trinity Christian nor Rocky Mount Academy have any future games scheduled.
