Volleyball Recap: Mcallen Memorial Has No Trouble Against Rowe

McAllen Memorial not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 22, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rowe Warriors. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

McAllen Memorial not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Rowe between 15 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.

Juliet Trevino was nothing short of spectacular: she had 24 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had over her last two games. Natalia Rangel also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good server: McAllen Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Rowe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabella Munoz, who had seven digs and two aces, and Sarai Cano, who had 17 digs and two assists.

McAllen Memorial's record is now 17-2. As for Rowe, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, McAllen Memorial will challenge Medina Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Rowe, they will square off against Rio Grande City at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
