Soccer Recap: Green Run Comes Up Short

Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to the Cox Falcons. While losing is never fun, Green Run can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Cox are ranked 87th).

Green Run's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cox, they now have a winning record of 2-1-5.

Coming up, Green Run will be playing in front of their home fans against Kempsville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cox, they will face off against Kellam at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellam's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Cox's offense will have their work cut out for them.
