Basketball Recap: Hickory Ridge Takes a Loss

Hickory Ridge suffered their biggest defeat since February 6th on Saturday. They came up short against the Victory Christian Center Kings, falling 82-62. The Ragin' Bulls were not able to make up for their loss to the Kings from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Victory Christian Center was led to victory by Carlos Marshall and Justyn Whitfield. Marshall dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, while Whitfield went 10 of 13 on his way to 24 points and six assists. With that strong performance, Marshall is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Abubakar Cham, who made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points and six rebounds.

Hickory Ridge now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Victory Christian Center, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Hickory Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-72 defeat against Huss on the 30th. As for Victory Christian Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-56 win against Queen's Grant on the 30th.
