Baseball Game Preview: Jonesboro Eagles vs. Oglesby Tigers

The Jonesboro Eagles will head out to challenge the Oglesby Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jonesboro has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aquilla hit Jonesboro with a six-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 12-11. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Eagles' highest-scoring match to date.

Meanwhile, Oglesby entered their tilt with Gholson on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past Gholson 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Oglesby pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Jonesboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
