Basketball Recap: Alabama School for the Deaf Silent Warriors vs. Georgia School for the Deaf Tigers
Alabama School for the Deaf had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 49-2 victory over the Georgia School for the Deaf Tigers. The win was some much needed relief for the Silent Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Alabama School for the Deaf found their leader in freshman Aiyana Fanning, who went 7 for 11 en route to 14 points plus six steals. The dominant performance also gave Fanning a new career-high in field goal percentage (64%). Another player making a difference was Tusi Silas, who had 12 points.
Alabama School for the Deaf will head out to take on Arkansas School for the Deaf at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgia School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
